There was an incident of gunfire between two parties in the afternoon over disputed land in Motijheel area of the capital. The police have arrested a suspect involved in the incident and are interrogating him.
This sensational incident happened in the area behind Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (June 9) around 2 pm. It is known that due to a dispute over land in Motijheel area, a businessman named Ilyas was openly shot and taken away in a car by his opponent. The image that has emerged in the footage of multiple CC cameras in the area.
It can be seen in the CC camera, a group of people stopped in front of a shop behind Bangladesh Bank with a white private car. A few people got out of the car and beat up a person who was standing on the side of the road and took him in the car. In another footage, another person is seen running behind the car. Who has a pistol in his hand. He fired several blank shots.
Motijheel Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad said that one party was working on construction of a building on the disputed land. Today, when the opponent comes and obstructs the work, blank shots are fired.
He said, initially I learned that the pistol that was shot was Md. Licensed in the name of Raju. Efforts are underway to find out details about this. However, it was not immediately known who abducted whom. Everything is being looked into.
