Formation of law and order monitoring cell to ensure smooth elections


The Election Commission (EC) has formed a high-level law and order monitoring cell to conduct the elections in 60 upazilas of the fourth phase. In the meantime, the deputy secretary of the EC’s election management branch. The letter signed by Atiyar Rahman has been sent to the concerned.

According to the instructions of the EC, the monitoring cell will be headed by Brigadier General Abul Hasnat Mohammad Sayem, Project Director of Smartcard. Which will be conducted from 8 am on polling day on June 5 from election building.

An officer not below the rank of Deputy Secretary, Department of Public Security, Ministry of Home Affairs in the Law and Order Coordination and Monitoring Cell; An officer not below the rank of Superintendent of Police/Additional Superintendent of Police of Police Headquarters; There will be one officer not below the rank of Deputy Director of BGB/Coast Guard/RAB Ansar and VDP and one officer not below the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police/Assistant Superintendent of Police of Armed Police Battalion.

The Monitoring Cell will inform the Election Commission about the law and order situation on election day. Along with that, the representative of the concerned organization included in the cell will inform the commission about the location and general condition of the law and order members deployed on the occasion of the election.
