Good news for imam-priests on budget


In the budget of fiscal year 2024-25, the program is being taken to make the poor religious persons including imams, servants and priests financially independent by providing interest free loans.

Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali said this while presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 in the National Parliament on Thursday (June 6).

The minister said that the grant giving and infrastructure development activities for the development of mosques, madrasas, Eidgahs, cemeteries, needy people, temples, crematoriums, pagodas, churches and places of worship are continuing.

In addition, construction of 564 model mosques and Islamic cultural centers is underway in all districts and upazilas of Bangladesh to impart Islamic knowledge and culture and provide religious and moral education. So far 300 model mosques have been inaugurated and there are plans to inaugurate 100 model mosques this fiscal year, the minister said.

The minister said that the government is working to establish a universal society of liberal and communal harmony by developing religious values ​​and ethics among the followers of all religions.
