Israeli airstrikes on central Gaza school, 33 dead, including women and children

Israel has launched an airstrike on a school in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. At least 33 people including 12 women and children were killed. The Israeli army carried out this attack on Wednesday (June 6) night local time.

Qatar-based Al Jazeera reported that the school was run by the United Nations Palestine Refugee Agency (UNRWA). The school was home to many displaced Palestinians at the time of the attack. On the other hand, the Israeli army says that the school was also sheltered by Hamas fighters.

Israeli forces have killed dozens of people, including children, while they slept at a UN school, Oxfam International said. Moreover, the number of casualties will increase as Israel continues to attack refugee camps in central Gaza.

According to Al Jazeera Arabic reports, four people were killed and six wounded in an Israeli attack on a residential building in the Magazi refugee camp in central Gaza. Earlier in the night, five people were killed, including the mayor of Nusirat, Yad al-Maghri, when the Israeli army attacked a municipal office in central Gaza.
