Mild heatwave is blowing in 5 districts, discomfort due to humidity


A mild heat wave is flowing over five districts including Dhaka. Along with this, there is discomfort due to excess humidity, said the Meteorological Office.

As the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh, the amount of rain has increased across the country. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Office has predicted rain in 8 divisions.

This information has been reported in the weather forecast for the next 72 hours from 9 am on Wednesday (June 5).

According to the forecast, there may be light to moderate rain/thunder with gusty winds temporarily at most places of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, at some places of Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chittagong divisions and at two places of Khulna and Barisal divisions. Along with this, there may be moderate to very heavy rainfall at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.

The Meteorological Office also said that a mild heat wave is currently prevailing over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Jessore and Chuadanga districts and may continue. At the same time, day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country.

Meteorologist Omar Farooq said that due to the active monsoon, the amount of rain will increase across the country. Light to heavy rains fell across the country on Tuesday. Sylhet has received the most rain. There has been less rain in Dhaka, Barisal and Khulna regions. At the same time, the maximum temperature in Chuadanga was 36.7 degrees Celsius.

Forecasting Thursday’s weather, he said day and night temperatures across the country may remain almost unchanged.
