Scaloni wants to stay as coach for as long as Argentina wants

Coach Lionel Scaloni became everyone’s favorite after Argentina won the World Cup. In November last year, there were rumors about the resignation of the coach, but he later denied it. Before going to the Copa America, he made it clear that he wants to stay as a coach for as long as Argentina wants this Albiceleste.

Scaloni, 46, played a major role in Argentina winning the World Cup, Finalsima and Copa America. Speaking to reporters in Miami ahead of the Copa America, he said, ‘There is no doubt that I will remain as coach as long as the Argentine Football Federation wants me.’

Referring to the incident in November last year, Scaloni said, ‘There was speculation about having a coach in November, I clarified that later. I am now ready with full enthusiasm.’

Argentina are yet to finalize their 26-man squad. Scaloni will finalize the squad after playing two friendly matches. They will play their first match in the Copa America against Canada on June 20.
