Sheikh Hasina is going to New Delhi on Saturday to attend Modi’s swearing-in ceremony


Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to New Delhi on Saturday (June 8) to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Narendra Modi is scheduled to take oath on Sunday (June 9). Narendra Modi is taking oath as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term.

Prime Minister’s speech writer M Nazrul Islam said that the Prime Minister will leave Dhaka for New Delhi at 11 am on Saturday. After attending Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony, Sheikh Hasina will return home on June 10 at noon.

Earlier on Wednesday, during a telephone conversation, Narendra Modi invited the Bangladeshi Prime Minister to attend the swearing-in ceremony of his government. Sheikh Hasina accepted this invitation.

Narendra Modi is scheduled to take oath on June 9. In India’s 18th Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led NDA alliance won 293 seats and the India Alliance won 233 seats. Earlier, Modi was supposed to take oath on June 8.
