The mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) said that sports and exercise are necessary to build a drug-free society. Atiqul Islam He said this at the opening ceremony of Joy Bangla Marathon in Hatirjheel of the capital on Friday (June 7) morning.
He said that this kind of organization will play a big role in spreading the ideals of Bangabandhu. He needs talented people to build golden Bangladesh. Sports and exercise are necessary to build a drug-free society.
Mayor Atiqul urged the youth to serve the country by nurturing the ideals of Bangabandhu. He mentioned Sheikh Kamal’s contribution to the development of sports and culture in the country.
After the inauguration ceremony, DNCC Mayor encouraged the contestants to participate in the marathon. During this time he ran a round of the entire Hatirjheel.
