The body of the housewife was lying in the house, the husband was absconding
Police recovered the body of a housewife named Swarna Begum (20) in Rajair of Madaripur. The husband is absconding since this incident.
The incident took place at Tekerhat port of the upazila on Monday (June 3) afternoon.
The deceased Swarna Begum was a resident of Dhaka’s Bikrampur area. Her husband Abbas Kazi (22) is the son of Abdus Salam Kazi of Ghoshalkandi village of Rajair upazila.
According to police, family and local sources, Abbas Kazi had a love affair with Swarna Begum three years ago. Later they got married. However, Abbas’s family did not accept this marriage. So they used to rent a house in Tekerhat Port of Rajoi Upazila. They have a one-year-old daughter. However, they kept quarreling over various issues.
Locals found Swarna’s body inside the house on Monday afternoon and informed the police. The police came and recovered the body and sent it to Madaripur 250 bed district hospital morgue for autopsy.
Since this incident, the deceased’s husband Abbas Kazi is absconding. His statement could not be taken.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajair Police Station Asaduzzaman Howladar said that the victim’s husband is absconding since the incident. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
