A motorcyclist named Aminul Islam (48) was killed when he was hit by a pickup van while getting down from the Mayor Hanif flyover in the capital’s Gulistan. The accident happened on Monday (June 10) around 12:00 pm.
Later, when the motorcyclist was rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMH) hospital, the on-duty doctor declared him dead around 12:30 am.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Banshal police station. Shamsul Islam told Jago News that after receiving information, he went to the Chankhanarpool area on the slope of the flyover and found the person lying in a bloody state. Later he was rescued and rushed to DMK Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.
He also said that while the motorcyclist was getting off the flyover, the pickup van hit him hard from behind. He fell down and was seriously injured. The pickup van was seized and the driver arrested in this incident. The body has been kept in the mortuary of the emergency department of DMK Hospital.
The son of the deceased motorcyclist told Border Jago News that we went to the hospital and found the father dead. Father left home on business.
The deceased is the son of Azad Hossain of Naruamala village under Gabtali police station in Bogra. Currently lived in Basila area of the capital.
