Police arrested six active members of Agyan Party in Chuadanga. Anesthetic powder and juice mixed with drugs were seized from them.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Nazim Uddin Al Azad gave this information in a press conference at the Chuadanga Police Superintendent’s conference room on Saturday (June 8).
The arrested are Bachchu Majhi (48) son of deceased Kashem Majhi of Dakshin Rajapur village of Sharankhola police station of Bagerhat district, Hashem Ali (48) son of deceased Golap Mandal of Dudhpatila village of Damurhuda police station of Chuadanga, son of deceased Raich Uddin of Ishwarchandrapur village of Darshana police station. Salamat (55), Shahabuddin alias Shukchan (30) son of Billal Hossain of Boalmari village of Chuadanga Sadar police station, Ibrahim alias Ibra (50) son of Ismail Hossain of Santoshpur village of Jibannagar police station and Abdur Razzak (47) son of Naushad Mandal of Mrigmari village of the same police station.
In the press conference, Nazim Uddin Al Azad said that Chuadanga has a total of 11 animal markets. Keeping ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, the animal markets of Dugdugi, Sialmari, Alamdanga, Sarojganj become crowded. At the same time, every year there is an increase in the violence of different types of criminal activities including Ajna Party, Malam Party fraud.
Also in the transports, members of the Ajna Party targeted the bus passengers and robbed the common passengers of their valuables including cash.
He also said that on May 16, Yunus Sheikh Sialmari Pet Shop in Faridpur, Sanwar Hossain (45) in front of Animal Hospital on Jeevannagar-Kaliganj Road on May 23, and Shamser Ali Sialmari Pet Shop in Alamdanga on May 30 fell into the clutches of the Agnyan Party. Finally, a person named Bachchu Majhi of Bagerhat was arrested last June 3 when members of Ajyan Party targeted Jasim Uddin of Noakhali at Dugdugi’s haat and tried to rob him of everything by pushing anesthetic.
A case was filed the next day in Damurhuda police station. Later, multiple teams of Chuadanga District Police laid a trap to catch the members of Ajan Party. Six members of Ajna Party got caught in that trap.
Additional Superintendent of Police said, it is an organized gang. There are several cases against the arrested accused for drugging the victim and robbing her of everything. During investigation we found several names of this cycle. Their ongoing activities are under surveillance. A thorough investigation and arrest operation is underway to bring all the members of the gang under the law.
