Yellow-pepper powder was made by mixing color with wood powder


Bangladesh Safe Food Authority has sealed three factories in Khatunganj of Chittagong city for making chilli and turmeric powder by mixing color with wood powder.

On Wednesday (June 5) in the noon of Khatunganj, the operation was conducted by Executive Magistrate Md. Abdus Sobhan. Food Safety Officer Mohammad Bashir Ahmed and a team of Metropolitan Police were present on the occasion.

Executive Magistrate. Abdus Sobhan said, those companies are making chili powder and turmeric powder by mixing harmful dyes and wood husks. The factory owners fled after hearing the news of the raid. We collected samples. I locked the factory. In this regard, legal action is being taken along with a case.
