Argument due to not being invited to the wedding, death of woman due to opponent’s attack


In Patuakhali, a woman named Neelima Rani (50) died after being attacked by her neighbor for not being invited to the wedding house.

The incident took place on Tuesday (June 11) around 8:30 am in Sadar Upazila’s Madhya Dandi village. Neelima Rani is the wife of Sunil Sikari of Madhya Dagandi village.

Locals said that Neelima married her granddaughter last week. Neighbor Ranjit Roy wants to know the reason for not inviting to the wedding. An argument ensued between the two. As a result of this, on Tuesday morning some of the Roy family came and attacked Neelima’s house and a clash broke out between the two parties. When she tried to stop them, Neelima was seriously injured by a stick. Later, when he was taken to the hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Sumit Sikari, son of the victim, said that in the morning 10-12 people came and suddenly attacked us. During this time my mother was injured. Later, when he was taken to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.

In this regard, the member of the Kamalapur Union. Monir Sikder said that there was an argument between Ranjit and Neelima after not being invited to the wedding. On Tuesday, the two families clashed over the issue. Neelima was seriously injured by the stick. Later, when he was taken to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Patuakhali Sadar Police Station. Jasim said that the body has been sent to Patuakhali Hospital morgue for autopsy. The family is preparing to file a case. Efforts are underway to arrest those involved in the incident.
