Health Minister said that the development of primary health care is the main goal of the government. Samant Lal Sen. He said this while exchanging views with hospital officials after visiting Rupganj Upazila Health Complex in Narayanganj on Thursday (June 6).
Dr. Samant Lal Sen said, My main goal is to improve primary health care. We have already held a meeting in the ministry on how to provide better services under primary health care. Ensuring proper primary health care for patients will reduce patient pressure in health care institutions like Dhaka and Chittagong Medical College Hospitals.
Referring to the community clinic, he said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a role model in the global healthcare sector. Under his leadership, improved health care is being delivered at the marginal level through community clinics. Recently, Prime Ministers, Health Ministers and representatives of various countries have praised our Prime Minister in various events including the General Assembly of the World Health Organization. This matter is a matter of pride for me as a citizen of the country.
Urging doctors to ensure health care, the minister said, we have to ensure that people trust and respect doctors.
Meanwhile, Samant Lal Sen also said that initiatives are underway to pass the Health Protection Act in the Parliament.
