BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has claimed that the government has secretly sent former IGP Benazir Ahmed abroad to save him after the horrific picture of his corruption came to light.

Mirza Fakhrul said this at a discussion meeting organized in Chittagong on Tuesday (June 4) on the occasion of Ziaur Rahman’s death anniversary. The program was organized by civil society organization Chittagong Forum at Institute of Engineers auditorium in Chittagong city.

Meanwhile, Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘Every day the news of the corruption of the former head of police and RAB Benazir is coming out in the media. There is no area in the whole country where he has not bought or occupied land. Even the place of Hindu community has been occupied by force. And this government smuggled him secretly to save him.’

He said, ‘BNP does not want to minimize the contribution of anyone including Sheikh Mujib in the liberation war. But Awami League does not accept the contribution of anyone except one.

Chittagong Metropolitan BNP convenor Dr. Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists General Secretary Quader Gani Chowdhury presented the concept paper in the seminar presided over by Shahadat Hossain. Special guests were BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Ghulam Akbar Khandkar, SM Fazlul Haque, Central Organizing Secretary Mahbuber Rahman Shamim and former National Press Club General Secretary Syed Abdal Ahmed.
