One brother sentenced to death, the other life for murdering a child in Mirsrai


The court sentenced one brother to death and the other to life imprisonment in a child murder case in Mirsrai, Chittagong. In the same verdict, the life convict was sentenced to another 6 months without labor without payment of a fine of 50 thousand rupees.

On Sunday (June 9), Chittagong’s 1st Additional District and Sessions Judge Court. Rabiul Awal announced the verdict.

The accused who was sentenced to death is Kazi Nahid Hossain Pallab, son of Fazlul Kabir of Bhuiyan village of Moghadiya Union of the upazila. His brother Kazi Iqbal Hussain Biplab is the life convict.

The murdered child Wasim is the son of Kazi Mosharraf Hossain Bablu of Bhuiyan village in Moghadiya Union of Mirsrai.

According to the statement of the case, on November 22, 2010, Kazi Mosharraf Hossain Bablu’s 5-year-old child Wasim was killed and left in the field on the east side of the house. Accused Kazi Nahid Hossain Pallab killed the child Waseem by strangulation and confirmed the child’s death with cigarette smoke and went home. Later, the accused’s family members wrapped Wasim’s body in a bag and dumped it in the nearby paddy field. Unable to find the child, uncle Kazi Ekramul Haque filed a general diary (GD) at Mirsrai police station the next day.

The next day, the local people informed the police after finding the body of the child in a sack in the paddy field. After recovering the body, relatives identified Wasim’s body. The accused’s mobile phone and the child’s sandal were recovered from the spot and the killer was identified. The police arrested Pallava from their house. Meanwhile, Pallab confessed to killing Wasim. In this incident, the child’s uncle, Ekramul Haque, filed a murder case at Mirsrai police station on November 24 of the same year. Later, the accused Pallava gave a confessional statement to the magistrate in the court.

The counsel for the state side of the court (PP) Sheikh Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury said that after the argument, based on the testimony of 21 people including the plaintiff, doctor, investigating officer, the court sentenced the accused Kazi Nahid Hossain Pallab to death and Kazi Iqbal Hossain Biplab was sentenced to life imprisonment and another 6 months of unpaid work without payment of a fine of 50,000 taka. give
