Production of fake fan in Nawabpur, fine of 1.5 lakh taka

On Wednesday (June 5), the Directorate of Consumer Affairs imposed a fine on M/s Global Trading located at Ali Ahmed Electronic Market on Nawabpur Road.
During the investigation, it was found that M/s Global Trading has been manufacturing and marketing fans with close name in imitation of a reputed brand of the country for a year.
At that time, the owner of the shop, Abul Hashem, voluntarily admitted his guilt and gave a bond/undertaking that he would not produce and sell counterfeit goods in the future.
Later he was imposed and recovered a fine of one and a half lakh taka in public interest under section 50 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009.
