Robbery in two houses in Sonargaon, goods worth 10 lakh rupees looted


In Sekerhat village of Sonargaon, Narayanganj, Jampur Union, two businessmen’s house was raided and goods worth 10 lakh rupees were robbed.

The incident took place in Sekerhat village of Jampur Union of the upazila on Friday (June 7) night. In this case, two separate complaints have been filed at Sonargaon police station on Saturday (June 8) afternoon.

The affected businessman Jahangir Alam said that around 2.30 am on Friday, 10-12 masked men attacked his house. They took everyone in the house hostage at gunpoint and looted 80,000 taka in cash, six pieces of gold ornaments and mobile sets worth about 7.5 lakh taka.

On the other hand, the robbers attacked the house of Panir Hossain of the same village and broke the lock of the gate and looted Tk 50,000 in cash and two and a half loads of gold ornaments from the cupboard.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonargaon Police Station SM Kamruzzaman told Jago News that a complaint has been lodged regarding the robbery. The matter is being looked at seriously. Efforts are on to arrest those involved in the robbery.
