Swiss expat killed in Munshiganj truck crash


A motorcycle rider from Switzerland named Mizanur Rahman (40) was killed after being hit by two trucks in Munshiganj’s Srinagar. Another person was injured in the incident.

The accident took place on Friday (June 7) at 7:30 am at Baghra Baribarkhola intersection of Dhaka-Dohar Road.

The deceased is the son of deceased Oli Khalasi of Satvita village of Dhaka Doha in Mizanur. He came home on leave a month ago. He was scheduled to leave for Switzerland on Saturday (June 8). Meanwhile, Al Amin (38) injured in the incident has been admitted to the hospital.

Eyewitnesses said that Mizanur and Alamin were taking two motorcycles from Dhaka to Baghra in Srinagar towards Doha. Mizanur’s motorcycle fell between two Shah Cement trucks while overtaking at the accident site on the way. When pressured, Mizanur was killed on the spot and Al Amin seriously injured. Later he was sent to Dhaka Medical.

Sekander Hossain, in-charge of Baghra Camp, said that the accident happened because two vehicles fell between them. The body is in Srinagar police station.
