Two students were absent from main examination of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) subject in SSC 2023 under Chittagong Education Board. But the published results show that both of them have passed the practical test and have been sent the mark sheets from the examination center (Banshkhali-01). Similarly, despite the fact that the answer sheets of two absent students were not submitted, the board examiners gave them GPA-5 with the highest marks in the theory (impersonal) examination as well.

But he didn’t answer the phone.

It has been found that Banskhali Adarsh High School was the SSC examination center for students of Chambal High School in Banskhali. In Madhyamik, impersonal and practical exams are conducted out of 50 marks out of 25 marks in ICT subject. There was an impersonal examination of the subject on February 28 last. Two students did not appear at the center for the 30-minute impersonal examination. However, the SSC results published on June 12 showed that both of them got GPA-5 in the ICT subject exam.

On the question of who sent the marks of the practical exam from the center, the center secretary said that actually the practical exam of 25 marks is not held in ICT. Marks are given based on the evaluation of the practical portfolio submitted to the school. The mark sheets of these exams are sent in advance.
However, Chittagong Education Board Chairman Prof. Rezaul Karim said that there is no opportunity to send practical exam marks before the theoretical exam. The practical exam is conducted after the theory exam, the exam routine also includes that schedule. The practical will be marked based on that exam.
When asked about this manipulation of the evaluation system, Advocate Akhtar Kabir Chowdhury, General Secretary of Citizens for Good Governance (SUJAN) Chittagong district branch told Jago News that the education boards are busy competing to see who can show the highest pass rate. There is a crisis of confidence in their published results. It can be understood by looking at the number of unsuccessful candidates in the university entrance examination.
“The entire education system of the country has collapsed long ago due to the politicization of recruitment everywhere, including education boards. Banskhali incident is the last nail in the coffin of this continuity’ – added Advocate Chowdhury.
