The government has made the country dependent: Fakhrul


BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir commented that the government has made the country ‘dependent’ while in power and said that the chemistry of Awami League is theft, corruption and terrorism. Now you see how theft, corruption is happening. So much theft, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman says that other leaders get gold mines in the country, and I get thieves’ mines. This is his regret.

BNP Secretary General made this comment in a discussion meeting organized by University Teachers Association of Bangladesh (UTAB) at the National Press Club’s Abdus Salam Hall on Sunday (June 9) afternoon, highlighting the overall situation of the country.

The meeting was held on the occasion of the 43rd death anniversary of BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman. Professor Dr. presented two articles on Ziaur Rahman. Golam Hafiz Kennedy, Professor Kamrul Ahsan and Professor Toufiqul Islam.

Mirza Fakhrul said, see how they are selling the country for their own interests, for staying in power, and have made them dependent. Everything is coming in their (government) talk. Today they have destroyed the country’s economy for the sake of foreigners. It has made us a dependent nation.

They have destroyed all institutions. They have taken the country to hell. It could be worse. They have destroyed the camaraderie and brotherhood among people.’

BNP secretary general criticized the government for collapsing the education system due to partyization and said, ‘Who is coming to our leadership today? See you… see their quality…. what’s up Why the leadership crisis everywhere? They have made arrangements so that leadership is not created everywhere.’

Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘We want to conduct a workshop with Chhatra Dal leaders. In that workshop your teachers will give their ideas about Ziaur Rahman’s issues, nation and nation. It is very necessary.’

UTAB President Prof. ABM Obaidul Islam presided over by Senior Joint Secretary General Prof. Md. In the discussion chaired by Raich Uddin, former MP Fazlul Haque Milon, Member Secretary of the Combined Professional Council Kader Gani Chowdhury, General Secretary of Asiatic Society Prof. Siddiqur Rahman Khan, UTAB Prof. Lutfur Rahman, Prof. Abdur Rashid, Prof. Shamsul Alam Salim, Prof. Akhtar Hossain, Prof. Habibur Rahman, Professor Alimur Rahman, Professor Amjad Hossain and others gave speeches.
