Japan is trying hard to encourage the young generation to get married

Japan’s birth rate has been alarming for the past few years. Among them, the birth rate has fallen to a new record. In such a situation, the country’s government is intensifying its efforts to encourage the new generation to marry. Even a dating app is being launched.

According to the data released by the Ministry of Health of Japan, only 727 thousand 277 children were born in the country of about 124 million people last year. In this, the fertility rate decreased from 1.26 to 1.20.

For a country to have a stable population, the fertility rate must be 2.1. Any higher than this is considered population growth, as seen in India and some African countries.

But in the case of Japan, the fertility rate is much lower than the normal 2.1. Experts say Japan’s fertility rate fell after the economic recession that followed the 1973 oil crisis, which has not recovered to this day.

In recent years, the death rate has exceeded the birth rate in Japan. The total population is decreasing.

In 2023, 1.57 million people will die in Japan, which is twice the birth rate.

Marriages in Japan fell by 30,000 last year. Divorce also increased.

In such a situation, the Japanese government has taken various initiatives. These include childcare facility, housing subsidy. Parents are even being paid to give birth to children.

Meanwhile, Tokyo is going to launch a dating app. It is still in the experimental stage. However, it will be effective at the end of this year. Through this app it will be possible to find matchmaker.
