Organized rape of disabled young woman, arrested 3


A youth and two teenagers have been arrested by the police in connection with the gang-rape of a mentally challenged girl at Debhata in Satkhira.

On Tuesday (June 11) morning, they were arrested in a separate operation in Kulia area of ​​Debhata upazila.

The culprits are Abdul Karim (19), son of Abdul Alim Karikar of North Kulia of Debhata Upazila. The accused juveniles are also residents of the same village.

The victim’s uncle said that the accused juveniles already knew his disabled niece. They conspired to call her niece from Srirampur on Sunday night and take her to the under construction farm of Basit Chowdhury, a resident of North Kulia of Debhata Upazila, a few kilometers away. Later she was gang-raped overnight and left. His relatives rescued him from the spot with the help of locals around 12:30 noon the day after he was missing overnight. Later, according to the statement of the victim, when his mother filed a case at Debhata police station, the police arrested the accused by conducting an immediate operation.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Debhata Police Station Sheikh Mahmud Hossain told Jago News that a case has been registered in the case of rape. Three juveniles have been arrested. The victim girl has been sent to Satkhira Sadar Hospital for medical examination. Besides, the arrested will be handed over to the court.
