Who can be in Union Cabinet of India from West Bengal

Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 12 of the 42 seats in West Bengal in India’s 18th Lok Sabha elections. Now the question arises, how many people will be in the central cabinet from this state.

In the 2019 elections, the BJP was in possession of 18 seats in West Bengal. Debashree Chowdhury and Babul Supriyo were first made Union Ministers of State from Seva State. Later, these two were removed from the ministry, making a total of four ministers from the state. Shantanu Thakur, Nishith Pramanik, Subhash Sarkar and John Barlake.

However, in the 2024 elections, BJP lost 6 seats in West Bengal. As a result, heated discussion has started on how many seats will be available from the state in the central cabinet.

Sources say that in 2024, two to three people from West Bengal may get the ministry in the Union Cabinet. Now the people of the state are looking at whose fate will tear the horns.

According to political experts, BJP’s winning candidate from Bangaon Lok Sabha seat, Matua Mahasangh leader Shantanu Thakur may get a seat in the Union Cabinet this time as well. Former Calcutta High Court judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay entered politics for the first time. He is also likely to be made a Union Minister.

Meanwhile, the people of Bishnupur witnessed the fight between the former husband and wife. BJP candidate Soumitra Khan has won this seat. This time he may get a place in Modi’s cabinet.

State BJP president Sukanta Majumder has won the Balurghat seat. He may be removed from the state president’s post and get a place in the central cabinet.

However, it is not yet clear that he will be included in the central cabinet. The central leadership of BJP will decide who will be the minister. But for the time being, practice is going on with these leaders of West Bengal.
